Armenian Community Annual Summer Picnic on Sunday, September 2, 2018

Dear Armenian community members!

We are pleased to invite you to our Armenian Community annual summer picnic on Sunday, September 2, at 12 p.m. at Gold Bar, Edmonton.

This is a potluck event, so please feel free to bring any food or drink (non-alcoholic) you wish to share with your fellow Armenians. You may bring a portable barbecue, or use one of the barbecue pits available at the park.

You may also wish to bring your favorite Armenian music and outdoor games to the event.

Please note that according to the city bylaws, alcohol in city parks is forbidden.

Armenian Divine Liturgy on June 16 in Edmonton!

Dear fellow Armenians and friends!

We are pleased to inform you that on Saturday, June 16, Der Myron, the priest of St. Vartan Armenian church of Mississauga will pay a pastoral visit to Edmonton and will conduct a Divine Liturgy!

Following the Service we will gather at the church hall for socializing, please bring some food to share with fellow Armenians!

Donations will be accepted to cover the costs!

Dear Armenians and friends,

On the occasion of the 103rd commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, we invite you to join fellow Armenians and supporters to lay flowers at the City Hall Cenotaph in Churchill Square in Edmonton, at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018. We will gather near Tix on the Square and start a march to the monument.

Please bring flowers for the ceremony.

This annual event is organized by the Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee of Edmonton, in collaboration with the Armenian Educational and Cultural Association of Edmonton and Area and St. Narek Church of Edmonton.

Dear fellow Armenians and friends!


We are pleased to inform you that on Sunday, February 25th, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Canadian Diocese, will pay a pastoral visit to Edmonton and will conduct Divine Liturgy.

Following the Service we will gather in the church hall for a potluck event.

Please bring some Armenian food of your choosing to share.

The St. Narek Church of Edmonton Parish Council will hold Annual Assembly with his Grace at 2p.m., in the Church hall, before Divine Liturgy. Those interested are welcome to attend the assembly.

Vardan Vardanyan Armenian School of Edmonton

Dear fellow Armenians,

The Armenian Cultural and Educational Association of Edmonton is pleased to inform you that the Armenian School of Edmonton named after Vardan Vardanyan will re-open its doors starting on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The opening of the school was delayed this year due to the availability of space, which we have now secured.

The school will provide Easter and Western Armenian lessons, as well as educate the children in Armenian culture, history and traditions. Parents can register children by arriving at 12:00 p.m. on the first day of school, or by contacting Dr. Sona Grigoryan (contact information below).

School hours: Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.

Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L6

The fee is $40 per month/child. Discount is available families with 2 or more children. The funds are directed towards operating costs and field trips/activities for the children. We are pleased to inform you that we are organizing a Celebration of the Independence day of Armenia on Sunday, September 17, at 12 noon at Gold Bar, Edmonton.


This is an Annual Armenia's Independence Day Celebration in Edmonton with lots of fun for you and your families. Also it's a potluck event and picnic please bring food to share with community members.

Dear fellow Armenians and friends!

 We are pleased to inform you that on Saturday, March 25th, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Canadian Diocese, will pay a pastoral visit to Edmonton and will conduct Divine Liturgy!

 Following the Service we will gather in the church hall for a potluck event, during which we will commemorate the passing of Mr. Nazar Zarminian, who had moved to Edmonton with his family from Syria last year, and passed away recently. The commemoration will mark the 40 days (karasunk) of Mr. Nazar’s passing, and his family will be present. Please bring some Armenian food of your choosing to share.

 The St. Narek Church of Edmonton Parish Council will hold Annual Assembly with his Grace at 4p.m., in the Church hall, before Divine Liturgy. Those interested are welcome to attend the assembly.

Mother Language Day Celebration in Edmonton

Dear Armenian school parents, community members and friends!


 

The Armenian School of Edmonton invites you to take part in the 14th Annual International

Mother Language Day in Edmonton!

Students of our school will present Armenian culture,

history and language in an exhibit of Armenian artifacts.

The displays will be followed by a cultural program, Armenian poems and heritage treats.

International Heritage Mother Language Day is on Saturday

February 25th, from 12:00 to 4:00. The event begins with

school displays, followed by the show.

Fellow Armenians,

 

The Armenian Cultural and Educational Association of Edmonton announces that the Armenian school of Edmonton is starting its new season on Saturday,,November 5, 2016.

 

Parents interested in Armenian education may register their children by arriving at 10:00 on the first day of school, or by communicating with us (below).

 

School hours are Saturdays from 10:00 to 12:00 pm.

Location: 110 Deer Ridge Drive, St. Albert (just off Anthony Henday / Ray Gibbon Dr.).

 

Registration fee is $20 per month/child is expected upon registration. The funds are directed towards operating costs. Donations are also accepted.

Dear fellow Armenians and friends!

 

We are pleased to inform you that Ter Hayari Tanashian will be in Edmonton from Montreal on Saturday, October 15, 2016, to conduct Divine Liturgy for the Armenian community in Edmonton.

 

We have rented Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for this occasion.

 

Sweets and tea/coffee will we be served after the liturgy, please bring some sweets to share with fellow Armenians.

If you wish requiem service or prayer for your loved ones, please let us know in advance.

 

The service will be at 6:00 pm., followed by the tea and coffee service.

Armenian Independence Day Celebration in Edmonton!

Dear fellow Armenians,

 

We are pleased to invite you to a celebration of Armenian Independence Day on Sunday, September 25, at 12 pm. This is a fun family event to come together with fellow Armenians, socialize, have good food, enjoy music and dance, and celebrate everything Armenian. This is a potluck event, so please bring a dish or two to share. We have rented Kenilworth Community Hall for this event, which is located at 7104 – 87 Avenue, Edmonton. There is an outdoor playground near the hall that small children can enjoy.

 

(Small donations are welcome to cover the cost of the hall rental).
